If you are looking for a relaxing time on the beach or an
exciting time for water sports and scuba diving, your
destination should be one of the South Sinai or Red sea
resorts, Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Taba, Hurghada, Safaga and
Marsa Alam. These cities have the best hotels with private
sandy beaches prepared to accommodate guests and offer all
facilities to enjoy their holidays. Weather in South Sinai
and the Red Sea resorts is hot in summer and warm during the
day in winter but the winter nights sometimes are a bit
cold. The best time to visit this area is from September to
April, the peak time is during December and January for
Christmas and new year holidays season. But if hot weather
(temperature could reach 45 ºC
or 113ºF at noon), you could benefit from discounts from May
to August, you can spend the day on the beach and enjoy the
night entertainment.
There are also Alexandria,
Marsa Matruh and the many resorts on the Mediterranean north
coast of Egypt for beach lovers during summer months (June -
August) who can enjoy a mild weather (temp between 30 ºC /
86 ºF to 35 ºC / 95 ºF) which have long sandy beaches, clear
water and good accommodation facilities, some hotels have
private beaches. The time to avoid being in these
destinations is the winter months, or from October to
February as you might experience heavy rain and cold weather
(temp could drop to 9 ºC / 48 ºF in January) unless it's ok
to walk in the rain or go to warm places like museums).
If you are looking for a
winter holiday but don't care about the beach, then you can
spend a good time in southern Egypt ancient monuments rich
cities especially Luxor and Aswan. These two cities have
most of the ancient Egyptian tourists sights in the country,
you can enjoy cruising the Nile from Luxor to Aswan in 3 or
4 nights and stopping to see the great temples of Karnak,
Luxor, Komombo, Abu sembel or Philae and the tombs of
Tutankhamun, Nefertari, the valley of kings and queens, the
temple of Hatshepsut, you can ride a balloon to view Luxor
from the air and many more. The best time to visit
Luxor and Aswan is between October and February.
Millions of people from all
over the world come to Egypt just to see the great Pyramids
and the Sphinx in Giza which makes Cairo their favourite
destination for a holiday. If you plan to visit the Pyramids
you can best enjoy your time from October to March where the
temperature is mild during the day, but beware of cold
weather in the night as temperature could be as low as 9 ºC
/ 48 ºF in January), so make sure you are prepared for a
chill sometimes. April is a month that separates winter and
summer and average temperature is 28 ºC - 14 ºC / 82
ºF - 57 ºF in April. Rain is rare in Cairo at any time of
the year.
Conclusion: Egypt is an ideal holiday destination
where tourists will find places to visit and things to do
all year long
